It’s hard to believe it’s been about a month since my last post. How sorry I am not to keep you up-to-date with our local Johnstown area market conditions…but, let me tell you, OUR MARKET IS BUSY! January and February were extremely heavy listing months. My husband and listing agent, Bob, and his team listing agent Don, listed over 50 properties! So, buyers…there’s lots of inventory in and around the Cambria-Somerset County area. And, yes, we’ve just had our biggest snowfall of the year, over 15 inches at Seven Springs, one of our Somerset County ski resorts, and what a storm it was on Friday. It’s another WOW! for home buyers around the nation. Our local Johnstown, PA newspaper, The Tribune Democrat, picked up a story by Jim Buchta of the Star Tribune (Minneapolis) on Saturday, January 26th, that due to the Fed’s rate cut, mortgage interest rates dipped down to their lowest in over four years. That’s great news for home buyers or those consumers looking to refinance. The article reported averages of 30 yr. fixed rates at 5.48% with (.4 points) and a 15 yr. fixed at 4.95% as cited by Freddie Mac.
